"This is a very special show for me.

I am proud to be showing with David Adix and Mark Ostow.

David is a longtime friend. He is a very well known artist. His work is found in collections locally, nationally and internationally.

Mark is my son. He is based in Boston. He is primarily an on site portrait photographer whose work has appeared in many well known publications.

He frequently hits the campaign trail and is well known for his distinctive political black and white portraits,

The Natural World

The inspiration for my paintings, my oil pastels captures me when I am outside. I am continually observing the place that surrounds me, taking in the textures, space, light, distance, essence. I marvel at the branches of trees that taper into smaller, into twigs and the space in between and all the complexities of leaves of shadow and light.
The density of shrubs and thickets and all the secrets within. I love the far off fields that say things and the distance of a mountain range and volume of sky above, be it a blue desert sky or a summer rocky mountain shower. I have an annual summer residency high the San Juan mountains of Colorado where I observe meadows, pine, aspen and wild flowers. The scent of pine and wind through a ponderosa forest always reminds me I am home. I communicate this beauty by painting it. —D Adix
